Principal's Message

Supporting Your Student's Success As a parent or guardian, your involvement is crucial to your student’s success in an online learning environment. Here are a few ways you can support your student:

  • Establish a Routine: Help your student create a daily schedule that includes dedicated time for coursework, breaks, and other activities. Consistency is key to staying on track.

  • Create a Learning Space: Ensure your student has a quiet, organized space free from distractions where they can focus on their studies.

  • Stay Engaged: Regularly check in on your student's progress, attend meetings, and/or communicate with their teachers. Your engagement shows your student that their education is a priority.

Encourage Independence: While it’s important to be involved, also encourage your student to take ownership of their learning by managing their time and reaching out for help when needed.

Online Curriculum

Odysseyware and Edgenuity are online curriculum platforms that help students learn in flexible, personalized ways. Students have the option of attending in the building located at Washington Elementary 3003 Cherry Street.

Odysseyware offers a customizable online curriculum for students from 3rd grade through high school. It includes interactive lessons with videos, animations, and quizzes. The platform allows students to work at their own pace, which is great for those who need extra time or want to move ahead quickly.

Edgenuity is designed mainly for middle and high school students and is known for its video-based lessons. It covers all the core subjects and aligns with state standards, ensuring students meet their educational goals. instruction.

Both platforms are excellent for students who need flexibility in their learning. Odysseyware is ideal for those who benefit from interactive, customizable lessons, while Edgenuity works well for students who thrive with video-based teaching and structured content.

Social Emotional Learning

Homelink offers a variety of activities and resources to support students who may need emotional or academic assistance. Our facility is open to students from Tuesday through Friday on regular school days, with Monday availability by appointment. Students are welcome to attend in person for additional help from our certified staff.

Every Tuesday and Thursday, we host a half-hour movement and social time in our gymnasium, providing a chance for students to connect and stay active. This year, students can also sign up for art classes, outdoor activities, and suggest topics or areas of interest they'd like to explore.
